Wimbledon Shorts open air film festival at Abbeyfest

This year the Wimbledon Film Club will be putting on an open-air screening of the WIMBLEDON SHORTS short film festival at Abbeyfest on evening of Saturday 15th August.

The Shorts festival has run for 2 years attracting many hundreds of terrific film entries from around the globe. This year the Wimbledon Film Club, in association with Abbeyfest, will be screening the pick of shortlisted films and winners from the 2008 and 2009 SHORTS competitions at an open-air screening on the evening of 15th August. This will be a great opportunity to see not only the best of the best but lots of movies made by up-and-coming local film directors.

Tickets (£3) for a seat can be purchased from the Abbeyfest box office (020 8543 9608) or, you can stand and watch the film for a donation. The event starts at 8.30pm and will be screening till 11.30. Bar/refreshments will be available.

Abbeyfest is held at Merton Abbey Mills in on the A24, Merantun Way, near Colliers Wood & South Wimbledon Northern Line Stations. Bus numbers 57, 152, 155, 200, 293 & 352 stop a few minutes walk away. You can walk from the High Street to the Mills along the River Wandle.

So come down to Abbeyfest for a great evening on Saturday 15th August. You will see a terrific collection of films ranging from tense thrillers to quirky animation, arty film montages and scary horror stories. The only common feature is that they are all less than 15 minutes.
